Debt Tracker
Track personal debts and IOUs between friends or family. Partial payments, photo proof, WhatsApp reminders. No signup, fully offline.
About this tool
Lend a friend Rp 500k for groceries? Borrowed cab fare from a coworker? Most people end up tracking these in WhatsApp screenshots or Notes app โ easy to lose track of, awkward to bring up, no totals. Debt Tracker keeps a clean per-person ledger: tap to add who you lent to or borrowed from, attach a photo of the receipt or transfer screenshot, and check it off as they pay you back (in full, or in partial installments over time). Each person has a net balance โ green if they owe you, red if you owe them โ sorted largest first so you can see what matters. Tap "WA Reminder" to open WhatsApp with a friendly pre-written message, no need to retype. Fully offline, no signup; if you sign in to Ringkes your data syncs across devices. Privacy-first โ entries live on your device.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is "net balance" calculated?
For each person, we sum what they still owe you (you lent) minus what you still owe them (you borrowed). Positive number means they owe you; negative means you owe them. Settled debts (fully paid off) drop out of the calculation but stay visible under "Settled" in their detail page if you want to confirm history.
Can I record partial payments?
Yes โ tap a debt and choose "+ Add payment" to record any amount. The progress bar updates and the remaining is recalculated. When the final payment brings remaining to zero, the debt auto-archives. You can undo this if it was a mistake.
Does the photo really stay private?
Yes. Photos are compressed to JPEG ~800px wide and stored as a data URL on your device only โ never sent to a server. If you sign in to Ringkes, photos are part of the synced blob (encrypted in transit). If you have lots of photos, the synced data can get large; consider keeping only the receipts that really matter.
How does the WhatsApp reminder work?
It opens WhatsApp (web or app, whichever you have) with a friendly pre-written message โ name, amount, what it was for, and date. You can edit before sending. The message uses wa.me deep links; nothing goes through our servers. The person's phone number is required to send.
Can I track group splits?
No, this tool is intentionally focused on 1-vs-1 personal debts. For "we all chipped in for dinner, who owes who", use Splitwise or Tricount โ those are built for that use case. Adding group split here would balloon scope.
What if I overpay or made a mistake?
You can't pay more than the remaining (the input blocks it). To fix: tap ร on a payment row to remove it, edit the original debt amount, or use Mark Paid which adds a single closing payment for the exact remaining.
