How does DST work in this tool?
Daylight Saving Time is handled automatically by your browser's Intl.DateTimeFormat. The offset and a 'DST' indicator update when the picked date is in a DST window (e.g. London shows UTC+0 in January and UTC+1 BST in July). This is more reliable than hard-coded offsets because the tool automatically follows each country's current rules.
Why is my city not in the list?
The list covers 50+ major cities across regions, prioritized for Southeast Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania. If your city is not there, pick another city in the same time zone — they share the same offset and DST rules. Jakarta and Surabaya both use Asia/Jakarta and will always agree.
How do I schedule a meeting across zones?
Pick the meeting host's zone in 'From' and the attendee's zone in 'To'. Type the meeting time in the From picker (in that zone's wall clock). The To side shows the equivalent time in the attendee's zone. Tap the swap button to flip the comparison if the host changes.
What is the time difference based on?
The difference is calculated for the picked moment, not the current time. This matters around DST transitions: a meeting at 9 AM in Jakarta and 9 AM in London are 7 hours apart in January but only 6 hours apart in July (London is on BST). The tool updates correctly because it uses the actual UTC offset for that moment.
Is my selection saved?
Yes. Your From and To cities (and a set meeting time, if any) are saved in localStorage. Reloading or coming back later restores them. Nothing is uploaded, so the tool works fully offline.
